Leadership is performance, consistent behaviour and trustworthiness, according to Rahul Bajaj, Head, Bajaj Group, and Member, Executive Board, Indian School of Business (ISB).
Addressing graduating students of the class of 2017 at the ISB graduation day ceremony held here on Friday, Bajaj said leadership was not just charisma, not public relations and not showmanship. "Leadership is performance, consistent behaviour and trustworthiness.’’
As potential leaders of the country, management graduates should recognise that there was no substitute for excellence, no tolerance for mediocrity and no compromise on integrity, Bajaj added.
Adi Godrej, Chairman, Godrej Group and ISB Board, said: "I encourage you to dream big, to be passionate and build enduring enterprises. Create and innovate to address the obstacles that impede India’s growth."
Earlier, while welcoming the gathering, Rajendra Srivastava, Dean, ISB asked students to challenge the status quo.
The largest ever group of 1,014 students graduated from ISB this year. ISB now has two campuses -- in Hyderabad and Mohali.
