Mahindra Navistar Automobiles Ltd on Friday announced the launch of MPower, a management development programme (MDP) at the Indian Institute of Management-Ahmedabad to help professionalise the country’s trucking industry through learning initiatives for young transport entrepreneurs.
The 14-day MDP will be run by the IIM-A, as knowledge partner, for 30 young transport entrepreneurs to bring about sustainable change in the industry. The programme, including field visits and external workshops, commenced on January 23 and will conclude on February 5.
Mahindra has also organised special guest lectures by industry experts to provide candidates better insights on domain development and current trends.
Earlier, Mahindra had instituted the Transport Excellence and Young Transport Personality Awards. Anand Mahindra, Chairman, had exhorted the youth to develop their family business with their own vision.
Nalin Mehta, CEO and Managing Director, Mahindra Navistar, said, MPower, developed through the process of co-creation, is a pioneering initiative. The entire course content was developed ground-up with the participation of young transporters, who shared their concerns and spelt out their knowledge needs for running their existing business through their own vision for the future.
