The Post-Graduate Department of Business Administration of M.O.P Vaishnav College for Women on Friday conducted a national-level management education programme on emerging marketing strategies in a dynamic environment.
The inaugural address was given by Shirish Digvi, Managing Director, Ferromatik Milacron India, who spoke on the emerging trends in marketing.
This was followed by three technical sessions on branding in transition economies, e-commerce and the impact of information explosion on consumer buying behaviour.
Cross cultural management
Susan Dunathan, Vice-Counsel, US Consulate, Chennai spoke on cross cultural management at the Valedictory Function and released the CD version of the Genesis magazine, which is a compilation of articles by first-year MBA students on current business topics.
Trickle-down marketing, the viral effect of the Whistle Podu song of Chennai Super Kings, brand longevity of The Hindu newspaper through the last century, empowerment of consumers and consumer behaviour in the screen-age were some of the topics discussed at the programme.
Over 500 management students participated in the event.
