Madras Management Association and Coaching Foundation India Ltd are jointly hosting an annual national conclave on Coaching and Leadership on December 20 in Chennai. This conference will bring together business leaders, talent management professionals and executive coaches to exchange ideas, share knowledge on the efficacy of coaching and mentoring in organisations to aid leader development.

The field of leader development is becoming crucial in the face of the unprecedented demands on leaders these days to grow businesses and build sustainable organisations. The role of one’s personality, strengths, preferences, beliefs, and the very personal nature of effort involved in becoming an effective leader is now being recognised.

The conclave will cover a range of topics from ‘Supporting Leaders in Times of Transition’, ‘Where Coaching ends and therapy begins’, Appreciative Inquiry, Psychometrics in Coaching and ‘Effective conversations in personal life’. Senior leaders such as D Shivakumar (President – Corporate Strategy and Business Development, Aditya Birla Group), B Thiyagarajan (Jt Managing Director, Blue Star Ltd), P V Jaishankar (Medical Director, Sundaram Medical Foundation), Kaushik Gopal (Managing Consultant at YSC), Neena Verma and CFI Coaches - G Inbavanan and M Hariharan; will be facilitating the various sessions.

The event is expected to draw over 200 delegates from across the country, and is an opportunity for members of the HR fraternity, senior leaders and talent managers to gain insights on various aspects of executive coaching and its benefits in leader development. According to CFI co-Founder Ganesh Chella, “Executive Coaching being a very personal, humanistic, result-oriented and one-to-one experience is becoming a preferred form of leader development intervention.”
