The Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) in Mumbai has signed a memorandum of understanding with the CETYS University, Mexico. The association is expected to build a future of imparting high quality education.
``The mission at NMIMS has been to give global focused education to its students. The CETYS University of Mexico was also founded on the mission of enriching students and providing value based education,'' said Rajan Saxena, Vice-Chancellor, NMIMS University.
He further added that ``technology and distant education go hand in hand. It ensures that learning is not restricted by geographies. The idea is to develop virtual technological innovations to educate and give value addition to education.''
Fernando Leon-García, president, CETYS University, Mexico said, ``both the universities have been working towards collaborative options for some time now and the memorandum was the next logical step to formalise and strengthen the association.''
Both the institutions see a potential for convergence, especially in the fields of engineering and management studies.
The association is to ensure preparation of faculty at doctorate levels and in particular engineering courses. CETYS University will use the NMIMS’s expertise to pursue doctoral programmes and qualifications.
