After a gap of 30 years, the country is all set to get a New Education Policy in the days to come. Dr Kasturirangan-led Committee on Friday submitted its draft report on thepolicy soon after the newly-appointed Human Resource Development Minister, Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, took charge.
Addressing the media, Pokhriyal said, “The new policy is coming after a span of 30 years and we will study the report on it recieved by us today.”
States and other stakeholders will give a feedback and the report should come in the public domain soon, he added.
Pokhriyal is among one of the new faces to be inducted in the Cabinet. He has been elected as a Lok Sabha member from the Haridwar constituency.
Born in Uttar Pradesh’s Pinnani village (now in Uttarakhand), he is an Arts graduate of Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University in Uttarakhand and also holds PhD (with Honours) and D.Litt.
He became the youngest Chief Minister of Uttarakhand in 2009 and post the formation of the State in 2000.
