The Indian School of Business (ISB) is increasingly attracting employees from the public sector enterprises and Government for its courses.
“A significant development this year is the marked increase in the number of professionals from PSU/Government, healthcare and fashion sectors in the Class of 2014 for post-graduate management programme,’’ Deepak Chandra, Deputy Dean, ISB, said in a release.
The classes for 774 students who joined ISB in its Hyderabad and Mohali campuses had just commenced. Out of this, 25 per cent are women.
The present class had 33 professionals from organisations such as Indian Railways, GAIL, BHEL, and ONGC among others.
“This class also witnessed a spurt in the number of medical doctors and professionals from the fashion industry,’’ Chandra said.
The ISB now has the largest class among premier business schools in the country for the second consecutive year.
“We believe that the students of the batch too will make the best use of their year at the ISB, hone their skills and make a mark for themselves in their chosen careers,’’ the dean said.
The new students were welcomed by a large group of alumni who organised an orientation week, a formal induction programme, ISB said.
