SIBM aces Pune semi-final of BLoC Boardroom Challenge

The penultimate semifinal of the BLoC Boardroom Challenge was held at Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Pune, on Friday, August 24. The event was organised by BusinessLine on Campus and presented by apparel-maker Indian Terrain.

The six teams that qualified were: Modern Institute of Business Management, two teams from National Institute of Bank Management (NIBM), Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology and two teams from Symbiosis Institute of Business Management (SIBM). The teams had to present various strategies and ideas on how a new entrant into the toilet soap segment can make inroads into the market and achieve a certain profit level by the end of the third year.

 

 

 

The SIBM team consisting of Ajith KN, Tejas Kumar and Vipul Sejwal was declared the winner, and a team from NIBM, comprising Yamini Saraf, Sagarika Rastogi, Vismay Gharat and Prathamesh Lad, was judged the runner-up.

The panel of judges was made up of Prof VV Ravi Kumar, Associate Professor & Deputy Director at SIBM, Pune, and S Sivakumar, Executive Coach and Trainer, The Falconers. The jury’s feedback after the team presentations emphasised the importance of strategic thinking and sound financials at every stage of marketing the product.

SIBM will be one of the seven teams participating in the Grand Finale to be held in Chennai on September 5.
