Souvik Bhattacharya, Vice-Chancellor of Jadavpur University, on Wednesday said teachers should practice more student-centric teaching processes.
“All teachers need to pursue a student-centric teaching and make sure that it ultimately helps the students learn,” Bhattacharya said while addressing a ceremony to mark the 50th anniversary of JD Birla Institute here.
He added that the teacher student ratio is not up to the mark and there should be balance in both under graduation and post graduation programmes. “Currently, the ratio is 1:20 on an average. It should be 1:12 undergraduate courses and 1:15 post-graduate ones,” he said.
