Technip in India and Indian Institute of Technology Madras today signed a memorandum of understanding for establishing broad partnership in various areas, including research collaborations with the ocean, civil and metallurgical & materials engineering departments.
The MoU also includes creation of a post-graduate programme with focus on generic engineering; lectures by faculty and industry practitioners; continuing PG education for technical professionals; placement and internships for IIT Madras graduates and students; and various sponsorship opportunities in the context of research enhancement and corporate social responsibility.
The MoU was signed in the presence of Philippe Barril, President & COO, Technip. The signatories were Nagarajan (Dean, International & Alumni Relations) on behalf of IIT Madras, and Samik Mukherjee, Country Head & MD on behalf of Technip in India, says a press release from IIT Madras.
Present in 48 countries with 40,000 employees, Technip is into project management, engineering and construction for the energy industry with more than 50 years of experience on land and at sea, the release said.
