In an effort to break the impasse at the University of Hyderabad (UoH), the University Administration has announced the constitution of a 7-member committee to hold discussions with the students and the Joint Action Committee.
The committee to be headed by B Kamaiah, Dean, School of Economics, has been given six weeks time to submit the report.
The committee will discuss with the student representatives about matters negotiable from the list of demands they have submitted to the university. It will also ask for two members from the JAC for social justice and students union to nominate two members each before starting the dialogue.
Meanwhile, the University Administration claimed that classes have begun after the holidays and the violent events on March 22 that led to the arrest of several students and injuries to police.
The JAC has given a call for nationwide boycott of classes and meetings at Ambedkar statues across the country.
