A new Formula car design has landed a job with auto major Honda for two students of VNR Vignana Jyothi Institute of Engineering and Technology (VNR VJIET) here.
A team of final-year engineering students from the mechanical and electrical department of the institute had designed the Formula car.
The model was the only qualified model to be featured in an international competition on designed Formula cars organised by the Formula Society of Automotive Engineers (FSAE), Japan, recently.
One of the participants at the competition, Honda, was impressed by the design of the students.
Subsequently, a Honda R&D India team headed by Hidehiko Numata visited the college and inspected the design in a test-drive.
The Honda team also took a test drive of the vehicle and was impressed enough to offer them jobs in their R&D division.
Two members of the team, Surya Phanikrishna and K. Prashant Reddy, have been offered jobs, according to a release.
The other members of the team were Mukul, Dharanidhar, Vinay, Vijay and Ashok.
