The Creditors Committee of Viceroy Hotels is set to meet today and evaluate the resolution plans. The NCLT had extended the deadline following various petitions by the creditors. There were five petitions put forward by suitors with respective resolution plans including the one submitted by Mahal Hotels.

Today is the RBI’s deadline for Kotak Mahindra Bank promoter to reduce stake to comply with the shareholding guidelines. According to the guidelines, Uday Kotak must cut his stake worth around $3 billion in the bank. Currently he is holding 30 per cent stake and needs to bring it down to 20 per cent by today and 15 per cent by March 2020.

The triple talaq Bill is likely to be tabled in the Rajya Sabha today. It will be moved in the Upper House by Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad. The Bill seeks to criminalise the practice of instant divorce among Muslims and seeks to protect the rights of married Muslim women. The Bill was passed in Lok Sabha with 245 voting in favour.
