Prime Minister Narendra Modi is to address a public rally in Srinagar on Saturday. During his day-long visit to the state, Modi will inaugurate phase-2 of the Baghlihar hydro-electric power project in the Jammu region. He is expected to announce a developmental package for the state.

Counting of votes for elections to the local bodies in Kerala held earlier this week, will take place on Saturday. The results will be closely watched, especially the BJP’s performance in the state. Kerala will hold assembly polls next year and the civic results would provide indicators to political trends in the state.

The result of the ‘Battle for Bihar’ will become clear on Sunday when counting of votes for the Assembly elections takes place. Exit polls project a close race between the NDA and the mahagathbandhan of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Lalu Yadav’s RJD and the Congress.

The Indian and Russian armies will hold a joint military exercise 'INDRA-2015' in Bikaner from Saturday. The exercise is aimed at developing capabilities to combat international terrorism and to counter evolving threats. The exercise, the seventh edition in a series of annual bilateral exercises, will close on November 20. A 250-member strong contingent of the Russian army will be participating in this joint exercise.

Myanmar will hold nationwide general elections on Sunday. This will be the first such election in five years. If the polls demonstrate reasonable transparency, it would be Myanmar’s first free and fair election since 1990, when the junta had refused to accept the verdict in favour of the Aung San Suu Kyi-led National League for Democracy.
