Five things to watch out for this weekend

P rime Minister Narendra Modi along with his Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe will travel to his Parliamentary constituency Varanasi on Saturday. The two leaders will attend the Ganga Aarti during their brief visit to the town. The visit comes against the backdrop of the Partner City Agreement inked between Kyoto and Varanasi.

T he ground-breaking ceremony of the multi-billion dollar 1,735-km gas pipeline connecting Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan and India will be held on Sunday. The trans-national gas pipeline project known as TAPI, is intended to carry 33 billion cubic metres of gas annually through the Afghan cities of Herat and Kandahar and terminate in Fazilka, a border town in Punjab.

A ICTE has extended the last date for the CMAT 2016 registration by another three days to Sunday. Year 2015 has seen the extension in the last date of registration for all the important MBA entrance exams including the CAT 2015, XAT 2016, SNAP 2015 and now CMAT 2016.

T he sixth edition of the Goa River Marathon will be held in Vasco on Sunday. For the first time the event will have the full marathon of 42.2 km, at par with international events. The GRM will also have a 10km half-marathon.

T he Confederation of Indian Industry Kerala chapter in association with Software Technology Parks of India and Infopark will conduct the third edition of the India IT Summit in Kochi on Saturday. The summit aims to discuss IT policy related issues, trends and technologies in IT, with a special focus on talent management, innovation, and new start-ups.
