Prime Minister Narendra Modi will embark on a five-nation tour on Saturday which will take him to Afghanistan, Qatar, Switzerland, the US and Mexico. Modi will begin his trip in Afghanistan where he will inaugurate the India-funded Salma Dam, which has been constructed at a cost of about Rs 1,400 crore. From Afghanistan, he will proceed to energy-rich Qatar and then to Switzerland. On June 7-8, Modi will be in the US on his fourth visit to the country.
German carmaker Volkswagen is expected to reveal the prices of its highly anticipated compact sedan Ameo on Sunday. Volkswagen India had announced a price-guessing contest for the Ameo, which asks social media users to guess the starting price of the upcoming Ameo. Five people who can guess the closest price will be declared winners.
Delhi’s All-India Institute of Medical Sciences is to launch its ‘Adopt a Patient’ initiative on Saturday. AIIMS gets between 8,000 to 10,000 patients each day, and not all them can afford to pay for their rehabilitation. Under the new initiative, an individual or an organisation can help patients once they are out of treatment in the hospital.
‘Reboot’ , a gathering of IT professionals, organised by Calicut Forum for IT in association with Nasscom and Cyberpark, will be held in the city on Saturday.
