The Great India Run, a multi-city marathon organised jointly by ProSportify and technology start-up MobieFit, will kick off from New Delhi on Sunday and culminate in Mumbai on July 30. Top ultra marathon runners from India and abroad are expected to participate in the marathon that would pass through Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Delhi covering a total distance of 1480 km.

India will play the first warm-up game on its tour of the West Indies on Saturday and Sunday. Leon Johnson will lead the WICB President’s XI in the two-day match to be played in St Kitts.

In an attempt to build a strong political base for his party in Gujarat, AAP Convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will meet farmers from the Saurashtra region on Saturday to discuss the agrarian crisis. Kejriwal would meet farmers from Keshod, Junagadh and Jetalsar towns of Saurastra region, which have been witnessing a severe agrarian crisis due to uncertainty of rains.

The third and fourth Indian Grand Prix, the last of the qualification events for Indian athletes aiming to compete at the Rio Olympics, will be held at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium on July 10 and 11. The deadline for Olympic qualification is July 11. The AFI had announced that the event would be conducted for “all those events where Indian athletes have strong chances of achieving the qualification standards.”

The state executive of the ruling BJD in Odisha will meet in Bhubaneswar on Sunday to chalk out the party's strategy for panchayat polls in February next year. The meeting is expected to refurbish the party's image in the face of public criticism over a number of issues.
