T he Mamata Banerjee government in West Bengal will on Friday make public all 64 files on Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose in the Kolkata museum. She has also said the government will undertake the process of digitisation of all files from 1937 to 1947. Netaji's grand nephew has welcomed the move and said the Centre should take a cue from this move and release all 135 files with the Government

P rime Minister Narendra Modi will undertake a day-long tour of his Lok Sabha constituency on Friday during which he is likely to launch schemes in the power and road sectors and inaugurate a trauma centre in Banaras Hindu University. This will be the third visit of the Prime Minister to the temple town after assuming office in May last year. The tour comes nearly nine months after his previous trip on December 25 last year. Two earlier trips scheduled in June and July had to be cancelled because of heavy rainfall .

A court is to pronounce its verdict in the May 2014 Badaun murder case of two cousin sisters today. The final arguments of CBI and petitioner counsels were on Monday completed on the closure report in the case. On the direction of the Allahabad High Court, the CBI had in August provided copies of all documentary evidence to the kin of the two sisters, whose bodies were found hanging from a tree.

T he Punjab Vidhan Sabha is to be convened for five days, between September 18 and 22. Effectively, the session will be held only on three days, September 18 and then September 21 and 22.
