The Supreme Court will today hear petitions against the Centre’s notification lifting the ban on bull-taming sport Jallikattu in Tamil Nadu. The pleas were filed by the Animal Welfare Board of India, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals India and an NGO. The four-year-old ban was lifted on Friday by the Modi government in poll-bound Tamil Nadu.
