Prime Minister Modi is to meet sportspersons who will represent the country at the forthcoming Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Modi will interact informally with the sportspersons in Delhi today. Rio will see India’s biggest contingent to the Olympics, with 102 athletes having qualified. The previous highest was 83 at the London Olympics.

The Supreme Court will hear a petition seeking to restrain the High Court from giving a verdict in a case relating to the Delhi government’s powers under the Constitution. The AAP government is the petitioner.
