Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal will inaugurate Majuli district in the State today. An island in the Brahmaputra river, Majuli will be the first island district in the country. Majuli has toppled Marajo in Brazil to bag the coveted title by Guinness World Records, improving its bid to be declared a UNESCO world heritage site.

ISRO will launch the GSLVF05 carrying the advanced weather satellite INSAT-3DR from Sriharikota today. GSLV-F05 in its 10th flight would launch the 2,211 kg advanced weather satellite INSAT-3DR into Geostationary Transfer Orbit.

Mining giant Vedanta will hold a meeting of its creditors on Thursday in Goa to seek their approval for the merger of Cairn India with it under a revised all-share deal. Vedanta has called meetings with its both secured and unsecured creditors on the same date in Goa to seek their approval for the merger.

The all-new Audi A4 will be released in India today. The A4 has been among the bestselling Audis in the country. The car made its debut in 2008 and has since received a fair amount of updates, including a facelift.  Audi will be launching the A4 with a petrol motor initially.
