Former Cabinet Secretary T S R Subramanian today became ill during his address at the 62nd Annual Conference of The Planters' Association of Tamil Nadu.
The incident happened around noon at the Residency.
Subramanian sat for over an hour listening to the other speakers before delivering the Chief Guest address.
Five minutes into his lecture, the former Cabinet Secretary expressed some discomfort, drank water and preferred to sit.
A doctor was summoned. He walked down the aisle, sat at the reception desk where his pulse was checked before the organisers took him to GKNM (G Kuppuswamy Naidu Memorial Hospital).
The association sources told BusinessLine that the discomfort was due to vertigo problem and he is okay.
