The prices of energy efficient appliances distributed under the Centre's (UJALA) scheme have been revised to align them with the new Goods & Services Tax (GST) regime.
LED bulbs of 9 Watts are priced at Rs 70 while LED tube lights of 20 Watts have a retail price of Rs 220, according to an official release. Five-star rated fans will be available at Rs 1,200.
The prices have been fixed by the Energy Efficiency Services Ltd (EESL), the nodal agency for implementation of the UJALA programme, and consumers should not pay more, the release added.
"If consumers notice any discrepancy in prices, they should immediately report such cases at 'register your complaint' section on UJALA dashboard, or on EESL social media handles....," the release said.
