Heavy rainfall accompanied by gusty surface winds is likely to occur in some parts of Odisha during the next two days under the impact of a low pressure area over Bay of Bengal.
The low pressure area remained practically stationary over the north-west Bay of Bengal and the neighbourhood this morning, the meteorological centre said.
Under its influence, rains and thundershowers would occur at many places over Odisha, while heavy rainfall is likely to take place at one or two places in the State during the next 48 hours, it said.
Gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph might prevail along and off the Odisha Coast.
Fishermen were advised to be cautious while venturing into sea, the met office said.
