A batch of 159 pilgrims from Pakistan arrived here on Tuesday to attend the ongoing ‘urs’ at sufi saint Alauddin Ali Ahmed Sabir’s tomb in Piran Kaliyar, about 10kms from here.
They were escorted under heavy security to Kaliyar guest house where they will stay for the next few days to pay obeisance at the shrine, also known as Kaliayar sharief, famed for its mystical powers to fulfil the desires of the devout.
The dargah is visited by millions of devotees from all over the world annually, especially on the occasion of ‘urs’ which will conclude on January 28.
