The Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) scheme for domestic cooking gas, which is being implemented in high Aadhar enrolment districts, has commenced operations at Mandi in Himachal Pradesh from Thursday.
This completed the Government’s target to roll out the scheme in 20 districts identified for first phase. The scheme was rolled out in 18 districts since June 1.
The scheme has covered 30 lakh consumers’ bank accounts. Nearly, Rs 138 crore has been transferred to consumers in these districts, a Petroleum Ministry statement said.
So far 1.72 million Aadhaar linked domestic cooking gas consumers have got an advance in their bank account and on the delivery of the first subsidised cylinder, the next subsidy (1.68 million transactions so far) have been transferred in their bank account, which is available for the purchase of next subsidised cylinder at market rate, Government said.
