Rajesh Mehta, founder Chairman of Rajesh Exports; TT Jagannathan, Chairman of TTK Prestige, and Rajeev Madhavan, founder and General Partner, Clear Ventures, have been declared the best and brightest entrepreneurs in business, by the Hurun Report India.
On Sunday, the trio received the Industry Achievement Award 2016 at the fifth edition of the ‘Most Respected Entrepreneurs’ Meet/Awards event held here. Over 200 guests including entrepreneurs participated in the event.
The “Most Respected Entrepreneurs” is the highest honour awarded by Hurun Report annually that estimates the influence of Indian entrepreneurs over the year. Sohan Roy, Naval Architect and CEO of Aries Group of Companies, who is also known for his contributions to Indian cinema through Project Indywood, received the Rising Entrepreneur – Media and Entertainment award; Kris Gopalakrishnan, co-founder of Infosys, was awarded for his contribution to philanthropy and Lucky Ali, singer, song-writer/composer and actor, received the Cultural Icon award. Speaking at the event, Hurun Report Chairman and Chief Researcher Rupert Hoogewerf, considered the ‘Godfather’ of the China Rich List, said: “By studying the country’s top entrepreneurs, business owners can gain insight into what makes a business successful.
“Some of the entrepreneurs who are included on the list were able to turn a failing company around, while others grew a new start-up from a mere idea.” The objective is to promote entrepreneurship, and India is one of the hottest markets, coming after the US and China, he added. The Hurun Report and Hoogewerf have won numerous awards for their ground-breaking lists.
