Hyderabad House, Vigyan Bhawan and Jawaharlal Nehru Bhawan have topped the Swachh Bharat Mission Ratings among government buildings in New Delhi, an official from the Ministry of Urban Development has said.
The Central Public Works Department (CPWD) surveyed 29 buildings for ratings based on the availability of sanitation infrastructure in buildings, cleanliness and adequacy of dustbins in the buildings and premises in June this year.
Hyderabad House, Vigyan Bhawan and Jawaharlal Nehru Bhawan scored the maximum 20 points, while Krishi Bhawan and Shastri Bhawan were rated at the bottom of all the 29 buildings with 8 points each.
The ranking was based on sanitation infrastructure (10 points), cleanliness (8) and availability of dustbins (2 points). The Ministry of Urban Development has circulated these details of ratings to the Ministries and Departments concerned urging them to take remedial action for improving infrastructure and cleanliness, the official added.
Interestingly, the Nirman Bhawan, which houses the Ministry of Urban Development, scored just 12 points out of 20.
Among others, Sardar Patel Bhawan came second with 18 points followed by New CGA building with 17, while Rashtrapati Bhawan and South Block were ranked sixth with 14 points each.
