Wishing Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) Arvind Kejriwal a long and fruitful innings, Rana Kapoor, Assocham President , said as far as its economic policies were concerned “the ideology doesn’t really matter as long as results are delivered.”
He said though the promises made by AAP may look tall, they could still make a good economic sense if the objective of reducing power tariff, for instance, was achieved by bringing in operational efficiencies.
In a statement released after Kejriwal took over as Delhi Chief Minister, Kapoor said the rise of AAP in such a short span of time showed that if “entry barriers, which are rather difficult to cross, are removed, people from different walks of life and different strata of society are willing to participate more actively in the country’s political system that will only enrich our democracy.”
Referring to AAP as a “new experiment which connects people directly to governance”, Kapoor said for industry, there was no better business potential and sense than empowerment of people, especially at the bottom of the pyramid.
