The External Affairs Ministry today said that 39 Indians who are being held hostage in Iraq are unharmed but still in captivity. An MEA spokesman said that 46 nurses are safe but have moved to another location for safety.
Nurses, who have moved from Tikrit city of Iraq, are in touch with Indian Mission, he added. "They are on the road but do not know where they are going. They are not going on their free will. The MEA Minister is in touch with Kerala CM since morning."
Some nurses have suffered minor injuries in an incident of glass breaking in Iraq but no major injury to anybody, the MEA has said.
