Ixigo, an online travel marketplace, has opened a product development centre in Bengaluru. The centre will focus on research and development of technology solutions to enhance the direct-selling capability of travel suppliers.
The company is planning to hire designers, UI/UX engineers, back-end and research engineers.
Ixigo did not specify the number of hires it has planned for this centre.
Aloke Bajpai, CEO and co-founder, Ixigo said: “We will work towards developing innovations to augment capabilities of travel suppliers, and co-create travel technology.”
Chandramouli Gopalakrishnan will head the new centre as Vice-President - Special Projects. Gopalakrishnan will set up a special projects team, which will work with Ixigo’s Gurugram-based product and technology teams.
Prior to joining Ixigo, he has held product leadership roles at Shotang, Stayzilla and Goibibo, where he was responsible for product feature planning, developing product experiences and design.
