A 10-member business delegation from the Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association (JEITA), led by Genichiro Shimada, had visited Sri City on Wednesday.

The delegation included officials from Panasonic, Hitachi, Daiwa and Mitsubishi Research Institute. The intent of their visit was to witness the existing infrastructure at Sri City and explore the possibility of setting up electronic industries.

Ravindra Sannareddy, Managing Director, Sri City, in a statement said, “Consequent to the visit of N Chandrababu Naidu, Chief Minister of AP, to Japan, industries are showing interest in investing in AP, and are deputing their representatives to visit the State and assess the business potential and investment opportunities.''

B Sreedhar, Secretary, Information Technology, Electronics and Communications (ITE&C), said: "AP offers a lot of incentives to the investors and has a large bank of land for setting up industries. The State Government accords approvals and necessary clearances through its 'single desk' system in just 21 days.''

The delegation visited the factories of Piolax and Kobelco Construction.
