The Andhra Pradesh Industries Department had held a seminar on 'Investment Opportunities in AP' in Tokyo on June 8 and 9 in partnership with the Indian Chamber of Commerce Japan (ICCJ) wherein some of the investors had expressed interest to engage with AP on ports and infrastructure sectors.
SS Rawat, State Principal Secretary (Industries & Commerce), elaborated on the six key sectors of logistics -- seaport/airport, urban infrastructure, renewable energy, agriculture, food processing and manufacturing as potential areas of investment.
According to a statement from the Chief Minister’s Office, Rawat explained about Andhra Pradesh's industrial policy, 21-day single window clearance mechanism and facility to submit applications online. The rapid expansion of sea and airports will make export-oriented manufacturing in Andhra Pradesh as it proposed to transform it as a logistics hub and a gateway.
At a meet on 'Ports Development Opportunities in AP', held at the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, Japan, organised by ICCJ and Ports and Harbours Bureau, 30 companies with varied interests in logistics, infrastructure, port developers and engineering consultants with port expertise participated in the seminar.
