Job fair in Mangaluru on Nov 19 & 20

The Karnataka Government will conduct a job fair in Mangaluru on November 19 and 20.

Participating in a meeting to review the preparedness for the job fair titled ‘Mangaluru Udyoga Mela’, Ramanatha Rai, Karnataka Minister for Forest and Environment and minister in-charge for Dakshina Kannada district, said that the job fair will cover candidates who have completed their graduation, engineering or any other vocational courses. The fair will be conducted at Canara Engineering College in Mangaluru.

Speaking on the occasion, Madan Gopal, Additional Chief Secretary of Karnataka Government, said that the job fair will cover candidates from coastal districts of the State.

He said that the Government will convene a meeting of the chief executives of different companies and of organisations such as Nasscom and CII in Bengaluru on October 14 seeking their participation in the job fair.

Rai said that the Bengaluru meeting will be followed by a meeting in Gulf countries. A five-member delegation from the State will visit the Gulf countries seeking the participation of the companies from those regions in the job fair.

Vivek Alva, trustee of Alva’s Education Foundation, who is coordinating the job fair, said that both candidates and the companies participating in this event will have to register online. However, candidates have the opportunity to register at the venue of the event, he said.
