Office-bearers of about 150 Khadi societies in Karnataka have interacted with designers of the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT).
The interaction mainly revolved around how to give a facelift to the Khadi sector through appropriate strategic design intervention.
The office-bearers of Khadi societies gave a detailed status of the current products and process of their societies. Technical bottlenecks in the product and process were projected by the societies during the meeting.
The interactive meet is the first step taken by NIFT to rejuvenate the Khadi sectors in Karnataka.
The meeting was presided by Laxman Rao A Chingale, Chairman, KSK&VIB.
The interaction was organised and facilitated by Prof V Sivalingam, Director, NIFT, Bengaluru, H V Raghuram, CEO, KSK&VIB, and teams of NIFT and Khadi board.
