External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid will attend the 11th India-Asean Ministerial meeting in Brunei on July 1, apart from the Third East Asia Summit. Later, the Minister will travel to Singapore, a Ministry spokesman said.

Trade between India and the Asean grew 37 per cent last year to touch $79 billion and is on track to touch $100 billion in 2015, the spokesman said.

UK visa proposal

India has taken up the issue of UK planning to impose a bond of £3,000 for visa issued for some category of Indian visitors at the political and diplomatic levels.

A Ministry spokesman said the Commerce and Industry Minister, Anand Sharma, had raised the issue during recent visit there. The Indian Embassy in London had also taken up the matter. The Ministry said no request had been received or was pending from Pakistani organisations for positioning journalists in India. Recently, Pakistan had refused to extend the visa of two Indian journalists posted in that country.
