KIMS group opens hospital in Ongole

Union Minister for Urban Development Venkaiah Naidu on Thursday inaugurated a 350-bed hospital at Ongole in Prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh.

Hyderabad-based KIMS Hospitals group has invested ₹65 crore in the facility, which will have 30 departments and all super speciality services.

With this, the capacity of the group with a chain of six hospitals in Telangana and AP reaches 2150 beds, said B Bhaskar Rao, MD & CEO of KIMS Hospitals.

At present, the group has fully-independent hospitals at Secunderabad, Kondapur (Hyderabad), Nellore, Rajahmundry, Srikakulam and Ongole. There are plans to go pan-India with hospitals in Guwahati, Bhubaneshwar and Indore, he said at the function, according to a press release.

Speaking at the meeting, Venkaiah Naidu pointed out that people were depending more on the private sector for healthcare in the Telugu states.
