The 31st edition of the Indian International Leather Fair will be held in Chennai with the theme ‘Indian Leather Industry — Always on the Move.’

The three-day event, starting Monday, will be held at the Chennai Trade Centre.

Organised by the India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) in association with the Council of Leather Exports, the fair will showcase the industry’s commitment to the ‘Make in India’ programme, said a release.

It will see participation by 156 exhibitors from 25 countries with a wide range of products such as finished leather, footwear, machinery and equipment.

The fair has got response from global majors such as the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs & Energy of Germany, ASSOMAC of Italy, Wenzhou Donnar Exhibition Group of China, G&F group of China, and SGCP of France.

With an annual turnover of $12 billion, India’s export of leather and leather products touched $6.5 billion in 2014-15, a 13.10 per cent growth over the previous year, the press release said.
