Kamal Haasan’s Vishwaroopam suffers yet another setback as the Madras High Court stayed the release of the film in Tamil Nadu till February 6, and asked the actor to file a counter with the single judge bench.
Orders given by Justice K. Venkataraman to remove the stay, was quashed by the two-member Bench today. The Bench posted the case for hearing to next Wednesday. Hours before the earlier order got quashed, the movie was released in a few screens in the city. Some of these theatres were attacked by “unidentified” mob.
Irked by this development, in an emotional interview to media persons, the actor said he may have to migrate to some other State. “I am fed up. I am an artiste. I will have to seek a secular State to live in….a secular State from Kashmir to Kerala, if Tamil Nadu wants me out,” he said.
He had pledged his properties to make the film. He said, “I may even lose my properties if the release of the movie is delayed any further.”
In a show of solidarity, leading film personalities and politicians from across the country have expressed their support to the actor.
