Manmohan to visit Japan, Cambodia

Prime Minister Manmhan Singh is to pay an official visit to Japan and Cambodia from November 15-20, it was announced on Friday.

In a statement, the Ministry of External Affairs said during the Japan visit which will be from November 15 to November 18, Singh will hold talks with Japanese Prime Minister Yoshiko Noda on bilateral, regional and global issues.

Singh will also meet Japanese and Indian business leaders during the visit.

The Annual Summit of the Prime Ministers will further enhance and strengthen the Strategic and Global Partnership between India and Japan.

In Phnom Penh, the Prime Minister will attend the 10th India-Association of South East Asian Nation Summit and the 7th East Asia Summit.

At the Asean summits the leaders will receive the report of the ASEAN-India Eminent Persons Group which had been set up last year to give recommendations on the future direction of the ASEAN-India partnership.

At the 7th East Asia Summit, the Prime Minister will join leaders from the 17 other members for a leaders-led exchange of views on issues and concerns with regional and global impact.
