Thousands of mourners continue to throng Rajaji Hall from early morning to pay their tributes to the departed leader and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa who passed away last night.
Draped in her favourite green colour saree, her body was taken from Apollo Hospital to her residence Poes Garden and then to Rajaji Hall early morning to enable her supporters have a glimpse of their leader - fondly called by them as 'Puratchi Thalaivi Amma' for the last time.
Jayalalithaa's close friend Sasikala along with her family members are standing next to the body, while AIADMK MLAs and MPs were sitting in the hall steps ever since the body was brought to the hall.
The mortal remains of AIADMK supremo will remain at the hall till evening before it is taken in a procession to Marina Beach where the body will be cremated next to her mentor MG Ramachandran.
Tamil Nadu governor Vidyasagar Rao and Madras High Court Chief Justice S K Kaul were joined by thousands of mourners who paid tribute to the departed leader.
Since morning, there has been a steady flow of leaders, including BJP's senior leaders Venkaiah Naidu and Pon Radhakrishnan, and leader of the Opposition in Tamil Nadu Assembly MK Stalin, to pay their tributes to Jayalalithaa. Members of film fraternity paid their tributes to her.
