An earthquake of moderate intensity rocked several areas of Himachal Pradesh this morning, prompting people to rush out of their homes.
The tremors, which occurred at 8.03 a.m., lasted a few seconds. The magnitude of the quake was measured as 5.4 on the Richter scale.
No loss of life or property has been reported from any part of the State so far, officials said.
People in Shimla, Chamba, Lahaul and Spiti and Kullu and Kangra districts felt the tremors and rushed out of their homes.
Tremors were felt in Kangra and some other parts of the state on July 13 also.
