Reaching out to farmers, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said he will take efforts to improve welfare programmes for farmers. He said the government is committed for more crop per drop.
Delivering the Independence Day speech at the Red Fort here on Saturday, he said efforts to save water, fertilisers and energy will be initiated by the government. He added that the Centre will ensure enough urea for farmers.
He said efforts to expedite rural electrification has started. He said the aim is to complete the process within 1000 days.
The Prime Minister also spoke for the startups. He said there is a need to develop India as number one startup destination.
He stressed that development has to reach all parts of India. He claimed that there was not a single corruption case during his tenure.
