An existing low-pressure area over East Uttar Pradesh and a successor system expected to materialise over the Bay of Bengal could bring rainfall to these monsoon-deficit sub-divisions during this week and the next.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has already warned of heavy to very heavy rain over many parts of North and Central India as an existing ‘low’ grows in strength over East Uttar Pradesh and heads west.
The rain-deficit areas of East India as well as parts of Central India are expected to gain from resulting rainfall during the rest of the week.
