The national flag will be flown at half-mast today in Delhi and in capitals of States and Union Territories as a mark of respect to Union Rural Development Minister Gopinath Munde, who died in an accident early this morning.
“The Government has decided that the national flag will be flown at half-mast today in Delhi and capitals of States and UTs,” a Home Ministry spokesperson said.
The national flag will be flown at half mast also on the day of funeral at the place where Munde’s last rites will be performed, he said.
His funeral is likely to take place at his native place Beed in Maharashtra tomorrow.
Munde died after his car met with an accident here early today.
Meanwhile, Home Minister Rajnath Singh condoled the death of Munde, saying with his demise the country lost an able leader and administrator.
Singh offered his deep condolence to the family of Munde.
