The Congress and the UPA alone can develop the State and the country and take them on the path of progress by completing major projects such as Polavaram mega irrigation project, according to Chiranjeevi, the Union Minister of Tourism, who is also in charge of the Congress propaganda in the State. At a press meet here on Wednesday, he said the public will not be taken in by the hype created over Narendra Modi and the so-called Gujarat model of development. In fact, he said, the Congress-ruled States were far ahead of Gujarat on many indices. He said the Telugu Desam-BJP alliance was thoroughly opportunistic and it would not serve the country or the State, but only the selfish ends of the two party leaders.
