Mobile health and wellness clinic mobD is trying up with She Taxi, which is claimed to be the country’s first technology-enabled, women-only taxi.
All She Taxis operated by the Gender Park under the Social Justice Department will be equipped with basic health facilities required to provide immediate help in the event of an illness.
Under the initiative, mobD will supply first-aid kits and digital glucometers to the fleet free-of-cost. It will also train the SheForce, as the women drivers will be called.
Advantage cardThis apart, mobD intends to provide the SheForce drivers with what it calls Advantage Card, free of cost.
The card will entitle them to free health check-up every quarter, free lifetime registration at Lords Hospital, partner hospital, and discounts for treatments, including imaging and laboratory services.
Priority admission and exclusive assistance to SheForce drivers and their family members are among other benefits that come with the card.
Harish Haridas, founder and CEO, mobD, said that the underlying objective is to make quality healthcare available to all, especially those who are not able to make it to hospitals owing to poor health.
‘Safe and reliable’“The association will only strengthen our efforts as She Taxi has proven itself as a safe and reliable transportation for women, children and the aged,” he added.
Haridas, also Vice-Chairman of Lords Hospital, said SheForce drivers would be trained on ways to offer first response in emergency cases. “It will go a long way in saving lives.”
Kerala Governor P Sathasivam will flag off the scheme ‘Health on the Go’ at a function to be held here on Tuesday. Health Minister VS Sivakumar, Social Justice Minister MK Muneer, and CEO of Gender Park PTM Sunish, will be present.
