About 109 riders began the Indian Terrain Tour of Nilgiris (TfN) from Bengaluru. The riders are to peddle 875-plus km, including three wildlife sanctuaries, spread over eight days.

 

The Indian Terrain Tour of Nilgiris (TfN) 2015 was flagged off from Shangri La, Palace Road, Bengaluru, by Bhaskar Rao, ADGP (Directorate of Civil Rights Enforcement), and K J George, Minister for Bengaluru Development and Town Planning, Sridhar Pabbisetty, Co–Founder, Tour of Nilgiris, and Venky Rajagopal, Chairman and Managing Director, Indian Terrain.

 

Starting from Bengaluru, cyclists will pedal through the towns of Mysuru, Ooty, Palakkad, Coimbatore, and finish at Polachi spread across states of Karnataka, Kerala and Tamilnadu.

 

In its eighth edition, the Tour of Nilgiris has grown in stature with participation from across the globe. A total of 109 participants have been selected from over 500 applications received by the organisers to participate in the latest edition of India’s most scenic and endurance testing cycling tour.

 

This year, the event is set to witness participants from Singapore, China, Nepal, Germany, the Netherlands, the US, the UK and India (the host country).

 

Bollywood actor and Indian terrain brand ambassador, Randeep Hooda unveiled the official jerseys for riders on Tuesday.
