₹ 1.75-cr gold seized at Kozhikode

In two instances of gold smuggling, Customs authorities seized 6.4 kg of gold at the Kozhikode international airport on Thursday from passengers arriving from the Gulf.

Both the passengers, hailing from north Kerala, had concealed the smuggled gold in the form of biscuits inside the battery chambers of emergency lamps.

One arrived from Abu Dhabi and the other from Muscat. The market value of the gold is around ₹ 1.75 crore.
