Twenty Red Sanders wood smugglers have been shot dead by Special Task Force officials in the early hours today in the Chandragiri mandal of Chittoor district of Seshachalam forest range.
The encounter between the smugglers of the precious wood and cops took place in two separate locations in the morning when they were spotted in the forest area sought to attack members of the force
The joint operation was conducted by Special Task Force team and Forest Department.
